In a feature-length expansion of the cult mockumentary web series, Matt and Jay are two middle-aged Toronto best friends who have spent nearly twenty years devising ever more elaborate schemes to book their band a gig at legendary local venue the Rivoli.
Their latest plan involves skydiving off the CN Tower into the Skydome to interrupt a Blue Jays baseball game and announce the show to the crowd. When this scheme goes disastrously, bizarrely, wrong, they find themselves transported back to 2008, stranded in the past with no clear way home.
