Ryan Starling

Richard Hannay

Ryan graduated from the acting course at Rose Bruford Drama School at the ripe old age of 21. Between gruelling shifts in a central London COVID ICU, Ryan wrote his first full-length stage play, The Morning After (The Night Before), which was staged in the summer of 2021.

Ryan has continued to write, nurse, act, perform stand up and improv, and consume copious amounts of biscuits. His latest writing project saw him collaborate with Suranne Jones and Lawrence Akers’ production company, TeaMakers Productions, to write and produce The Mystery of the Three-Eyed Elephant, a Sherlock Holmes origin story.

He currently lives in Norwich, where he is busy working on his first book: a memoir of his time nursing in Australia and all the gruesome things he saw, heard, and smelled.

Sophie Bloor

Sophie trained at RADA after beginning her theatre life at Derby Theatre Youth Company, so returning to this stage as a professional feels wonderfully full circle. Theatre credits include: Lili in the original UK tour of Doc Doc (dir. Ian Talbot MBE), Rosalind in As You Like It (Will and Co, dir. Victoria Gartner), Doreen in The York Realist (New Venture Theatre, Brighton), Elizabeth Bennet in Gay Pride and No Prejudice (Union Theatre, dir. Luke Fredericks), and I Dream Before I Take the Stand (Theatre Twilight, dir. Suse Crosby).

Television includes D.C. Corrine Wells in Murder Before Evensong (Channel 5, dir. David Moore, eps 2-6), Birdcage (BBC, dir. Mark Campbell Garity), The York Witches Society (Amazon Prime, dir. Liza Bolton), and the BFI short films Fairview Park (Galway Film Fleadh official selection, dir. Joe Tapp), The Horror, The Horror (BAFTA Crew x BFI Network, dir. Lachlan Smith), and Paper Trails (dir. Greta Kaur-Taylor). Sophie has also completed extensive dialogue capture on a major AAA video game title, to be announced. As a writer-performer, Sophie created and performed The Commute at Soho Theatre Comedy Lab. Her new comedy-drama Pizza Face is currently in development for stage and television.
